Dave Courtney (born 17 February 1959) is a self-proclaimed former British gangster who has become both an author and 
celebrity-gangster figure. Dave is probably best known for organising the security at gangster Ronnie Kray's funeral in 1995.
He claims to be the inspiration for Vinnie Jones's debt-collecting hard man in the movie Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

While painting this picture Pierre immersed himself in Dave'world, attracting police attention which at first
was amusing but later became more sinister. As Pierre says, "I have no criminal record so who has the right 
to put me under surveillance?"

Painted again using traditional techniques, the skin pigment contains drops of Dave's blood and the swan's 
wings are real. Dave's trademark knuckle duster (for debt-collecting) is included in the painting.
